Welcome To Jane Doyle's Official Website
I have had a fascination for animals and wildlife since I was very young and a love of the countryside. This showed through at a very early age when I spent a lot of my time drawing and painting. I have always wanted to be an artist and it is something which I find provides me with a way to express my love of animals.
As you will see, as you look through the examples of my work, I have a great love for horses, having worked with them and also rode for many years. I have over the years developed a love for all animals and travel at all times with camera and sketch pad looking for that opportunity for a new painting.
I was born in Huddersfield in 1968, moving to Barnsley where I spent my childhood, and enjoyed nothing more than leaving the town and wandering through the local countryside. When I left secondary education at sixteen I went to Art College, though I ended up with a longing to explore, and so I left and began my travels around the UK. This had to be supported and saw me taking work where ever possible. I worked as a groom, art tutor and even as a housekeeper, though I always took time to draw and paint where possible. I then got an opportunity to teach art again, though this time it was on a summer camp in America.
I have always been able to sell my work and hold exhibitions, where ever I have been living, which at times has been a life line.
Then in 1992 I decided that I would go back to college. I sat my HND in Wildlife Illustration passing with distinction. This lead to my completing a business course and setting up as a freelance artist.
I am now married and we live in the North Pennines not far from Barnard Castle. This is a wonderful place for me, being in the countryside allows me the chance to explore and paint. I also run art courses within local communities throughout the North East.
I hope that you enjoy my site and I will be pleased to discuss any commission and any of the works which you will find on the site that are for sale. Thank you for taking the time to visit my site. |
